Emmett W. McCulley, 82

LEWISTON: Emmett W. McCulley, 82 of Lewiston formerly of Grangeville passed away Monday, September 20, 2004, at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.

Emmett was born January 25, 1922 at Canfield, Idaho a son of Homer and Sarah Marshall McCulley. He attended school in Canfield and following his education he joined the CCC’s. He entered the US Army in September of 1945 and was discharged in December of 1946. He moved to the Grangeville area and worked for Ralph Pratt a Camas Prairie rancher. He married Olive Brown on October 15, 1949 at Grangeville in a double ceremony where Emmett’s brother Homer married Olive’s sister Jessie.

He worked for Bob McCall and Lindsley’s before completing his electrical contracting certification. He then worked for Wicks Lumber Mill retiring in the late 1970’s. Mrs. McCulley passed away in February of 2002.

He was a member of the Grangeville Elks Lodge and enjoyed having coffee with the “coffee crowd” at the Copperhood. He liked to spend time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing and visiting with his friends and family.

He is survived by his children, Denise and Dwight Morrow of Grangeville, Clark and Jill McCulley of Grangeville and Kevin and Carol McCulley of Boise, his grandchildren, Kacey McCulley, Amber Brumley and Chantel Schneider, his brothers, Charles McCulley of Grangeville, Wilber McCulley of Nezperce, Alfred McCulley of Grangeville, George McCulley of Vallejo, CA, Thomas McCulley of Grangeville and Jay McCulley of Cascade Locks, Ore. He was preceded in by his wife, parents, 4 brothers, Homer, Fay, Marshall and Kimball, and 3 sisters, Dorothy, Sarah and Nyra.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville with Pastor Harold Gott of the Grangeville Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Send condolences to the family at Blackmerfuneralhome.com
