Raymond "Ray" Underwood, 57
Grangeville; Raymond Underwood, 57, a Grangeville resident, went home to be with his Lord and savior Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at his home surrounded by his loved ones.
Raymond was born in Newberry, Michigan, a son of John and June Stigall Underwood. He and his brother Boyd and his sister Janet were raised by his mother June and stepfather Elwood Fite.
Raymond gave 4 years to his country, serving in Vietnam.
Raymond married Vickie Kelm in 1975 at South Bend, Washington, and together they raised their three children Bonnie, Kenny, and Catina.
Raymond spent his life dedicated to his family, raising his grandchildren, and watching them grow. He was also a hard worker and spent many years working for the Mayr Brothers before retiring.
Raymond and Vickie moved to Idaho in 2003 enjoying a quieter life, raising their grandchildren Codey and Chyna. He enjoyed every beautiful day looking out over his deck, watching the sheep and deer over on the hill, never missing a sunset or a thunderstorm. Raymond will be remembered for his love of family, hard work, love for hunting and eating deer steak, his wonderful pies, and his laid back timing.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife Vickie at the family home, Daughters, Bonnie Malone and friend Jay, and Catina Malone, son, Kenny and Melissa Malone, Grandchildren, Mitchell, Jason, Dillan, Dalton, Chyna, Kylee; “Grandpa’s Biggest Helper” Codey, and his “partner” Garett. Sister Janet and Ray Oatfield, Brother, Boyd Underwood, his best friend Alan Pepin, and numerous extended family.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 20, 2004, at the Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle Church. Burial will follow at the Prairie View Cemetery, Grangeville.
