Gertrude M. Baune, 82

GRANGEVILLE: Gertrude M. Baune, 82, of Grangeville passed away Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Idaho County Nursing Home, in Grangeville.

Gertrude was born December 11, 1922 at Cottonwood, Idaho a daughter of John and Mary Brookhaus Wemhoff. She attended school in Cottonwood graduating from St. Gertrude’s Acadamy. She married Cornelius Baune on April 30, 1946 at Cottonwood. They farmed near Grangeville until their retirement in 1984. Mr. Baune passed away in 1994.

She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Grangeville.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Baune of Grangeville, and Ken Baune of Federal Way, WA, her daughters, Karen Rowe of Battle Creek, MI and Janet Fellis of Troutdale, Oregon ten grandchildren, her sisters, Caroline Frei of Grangeville, Helen Romaine of Veradale, Washington Agnes Scharnhorst of Cottonwood and Dorothy Schmidt of Cottonwood.

In addition to her husband, her parents, five brothers, Lawrence Wemhoff, Lee Wemhoff, William Wemhoff, Frank Wemhoff and August Wemhoff, and a sister Margaret Arnzen died earlier.

A rosary service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Grangeville. Funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, January 13, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Grangeville. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery, Grangeville. Friends may call Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Family suggests memorial contributions to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School.
