A 1966 graduate of Grangeville High School, Lanny was always seen around town on a motorcycle or in his ’56 Cherry Red Ford. Lanny worked for Rickman’s Rockery. It was there that he began his life-long interest in plants, flowers and “lawn farming”.
By fall, 1966 Lanny joined the United States Air Force, served 4 years of active duty in Air Security and was released at the rank of Sergeant. His Air Force duty took him to Vietnam at Bien Hoa Airbase where he was exposed to Agent Orange.

Lanny joined the Nevada Highway Patrol in 1980 and retired from the patrol in 1988. They moved to Nezperce that same year. They owned and operated Rosi’s Bar until 1996. Mona died in 1997.

Lanny was active in the Nezperce Lions Club and the VFW Post. Again he was seen around town on his now favorite ride ….. this time his lawnmower; most often accompanied by his pal, Buddy.
