William D. “Bill” Telcher, 92

GRANGEVILLE: William D. “Bill” Telcher, 92, of Grangeville passed away Sunday, January 30, 2005 at the Idaho County Nursing Home in Grangeville.

Bill was born July 3, 1912 at Grangeville a son of Ralph and Lennah Wilson Telcher. He attended Grangeville area schools before graduating from Grangeville High School in 1929 as class valedictorian. He attended the University of Idaho before returning to Grangeville where he and his father farmed. He married Helen Skar in October of 1942 at Spokane. Mrs. Telcher passed away in 1952 and Bill raised his two children and continued to farm.

He loved the farming life and was a very good farmer.

He was a member of the Masons, Grange and the Grangeville Christian Church.

In addition to his farming, he loved to read books.

He is survived by his son, Larry Telcher of Lewiston, his daughter and her husband, Lynda and Charlie Hinds of Camas, WA and two grandchildren, Michelle Modglin and Tim Hinds.

In addition to his wife and parents a sister, Margaret Loomis died earlier.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at Prairie View Cemetery, Grangeville. Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home.
