John W. DeHaas, Jr., 50
Lewiston: John W. DeHaas, Jr., 50 of Cottonwood passed away Thursday, April 21, 2005 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of cancer.
John was born June 3, 1954 at Grangeville a son of John and Susan Stuvinga DeHaas.
He attended Grangeville schools and graduated from Grangeville High School in 1972.
Following graduation he worked for Wicks Forest Industries in Grangeville for ten years. He moved to Lewiston and then to Cottonwood where he has lived since.
He enjoyed rodeos, fishing with his friends and reading.
He is survived by his parents, John and Susan DeHaas of Grangeville, his brothers, Richard and wife Paula DeHaas and family of New Mexico, Larry DeHaas of Lewiston, Gerald and wife Karyn DeHaas and family of Fairbanks, Alaska, James DeHaas and his fiancé Susan and family of Bainbridge Island, Washington, his sisters, Cathy Bailey and family of Superior Montana, Carolyn Wren and family of Grangeville and Chris and her husband Tim Haener and family of Boise and his caregiver Sue Silvers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Pastor Jude Reardon of the Grangeville Christian Reformed Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, April 25, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
