Minnie Suhr, 87
GRANGEVILLE: Minnie Suhr, 87, of Grangeville passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Minnie was born July 8, 1918 at New Amsterdam, Idaho a daughter of Tony and Hilda Vanderwall Rylaarsdam. She moved to Grangeville when she was a young girl and attended Grangeville schools. Following her education she worked as a nanny for a local family. She married Herman Suhr on July 10, 1936 at Grangeville. She worked for the Grangeville School lunch program, Peerless Cleaners, Owl Drug and did babysitting. Mr. Suhr passed away in 1962.
She enjoyed quilting and made over 300 quilts. She also enjoyed sewing and handwork.
She is survived by a daughter and her husband, Hilda and Pete Johnson of Cottonwood, her sons John Suhr of Grangeville and Jim and his wife Patty Suhr also of Grangeville. She is also survived by six grandchildren, several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a sister Tena Gortsema of Spokane. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arie, John and Marinus and one sister Kate.
