Joseph A. Frei, 79
GRANGEVILLE: Joseph A. Frei, 79 of Grangeville passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at his home in Grangeville.
Joe was born June 24, 1926 at Ferdinand, Idaho a son of William and Elizabeth Frei. He attended school in Ferdinand and following his education he farmed for several area farmers. He and his brothers, Carl and Tony owned Frei Brothers Logging before he became a state certified log scaler. He married Margaret Woolfolk on November 21, 1956 at Grangeville. He ranched east of Grangeville since. Mrs. Frei passed away in 2001.
He enjoyed braiding rope and leather, attending farm sales and auctions, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Randall Frei of Rathdrum, ID, Theresa and Steve Trimmell of Asotin, WA and David and Traci Frei of Grangeville, his grandchildren Joshua and Aaron, two brothers, Carl Frei and Tony Frei of Grangeville; sisters, Christine Breugeman of Grangeville and Ann Crea of Lewiston. In addition to his wife and parents an infant brother died earlier.
He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Grangeville.
A vigil service will be held Friday, February 10, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Grangeville. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. also at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Prairie View Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
