Robert H. “Bob” Gill, 74
KOOSKIA: Robert H. “Bob” Gill, 74, of Kooskia passed away February 24, 2006 at his home in Kooskia.
Bob was born February 27, 1931 near Grangeville in the Tolo Lake area to Marvin and Virginia Smith Gill. He attended school in Grangeville. Following his education he enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War and served in Germany. After his discharge from the military he returned to Grangeville and married Patricia Glover. They latter divorced.
Bob worked in the logging industry for several years, retiring in the early 1990’s.
He enjoyed working on old cars, camping and especially his children.
He is survived by his companion Frances Pfefferkorn of Battle Ridge near Kooskia, his children; Lavonda Chavez of Corvallis, Montana., Boyd Gill of Seabeck, Washington, Glory Taurman of St. Regis, Montana, Timothy Gill of Missoula, Montana, Lori Gill of Missoula, Montana, thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, his sister, Nora Mae Ogle of Shady Cove, Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son Charles, a brother Joe Zehner and a sister LaVonne Gortsema.
Services will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Friends may call Monday, February 27, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
