Douglas Dean Andrews, 59, of Grangeville passed away Monday, May 22, 2006 at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville.
Doug was born March 8, 1947 to Lawrence and Eldora Andrews in Grangeville.
He is survived by four children, Bodie of Boise, ID; Joy of Poulsbo, WA; Callie of South Korea; and Tera of Washington State; five siblings, Lila Reuter of Grangeville; Sharon Davis of McCall; Martha Smith and husband Randy of Grangeville; Larry Andrews of Grangeville, and Connie Chadwick and her husband Jim of Idaho Falls, ID.
Doug joined the U.S. Army in 1967 and served with the HHC 1st Bn, 32nd Inf, 7th Inf Division – 8th Army for three years and also served in the reserves until 1973.
Doug was a loving son, brother and father. He was an avid outdoorsman and was always giving a helping hand whenever needed. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends hunting, camping and fishing.
A celebration of Doug’s life will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 26, 2006 at the Eagles Hall in Grangeville. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
