Dorma L. Wright, 77

GRANGEVILLE: Dorma L. Wright, 77 of Grangeville passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2006 at her home in Grangeville. We ask others to join in celebration of our beloved Nana, Mother and Sister’s life.

Dorma Lorene Fales Wright was born April 4th 1929 in Torrington Wyoming to John and Ruby Fales. Dorma was raised in Torrington by John and Leona Fales after the death of her natural mother. Dorma was married to M.M. “Shorty” Wright April 8th 1945. They fell in love with the Camas Prairie in Idaho as they were traveling through on their honeymoon and subsequently moved to Grangeville in 1956. Dorma and Shorty raised three children and shared 47 years together until Shorty’s death in 1992. Dorma was a kind and loving person, with a warm and generous heart, a great sense of humor, and deep devotion to her family and friends. She was a beautiful woman who was always a lady. Dorma loved gardening and caring for her home, which was a welcoming haven to all. She loved children, and will always be remembered for the marvelous tea parties she hosted. Dorma will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving friend, Ron Fredrickson, and her children, Terry Wright of Darwin, Australia, Danny and Sarah Wright of Kennewick, WA, and Connie Taylor of Lewiston, ID. She also leaves behind her siblings Neil Fales of Grangeville, ID, John Fales of Clarkston, WA, Janice Konestes of Spokane, WA, Connie Wagner of Blackfoot, ID and Francis Fales, Marvin Fales and Alyce Binns all of Torrington, WY, as well as her grandchildren Troy Vance of Springfield, MO, Matt Wright, Sonja Wright and Patrick Wright of Seattle, WA, Tara Hemlock of Kirkland, WA, Ryan Wright and Ida Wright of Pasco, WA, Jordan Taylor of Moscow, ID, Clay Taylor of Lewiston, ID, and her six great-grandchildren. Dorma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband M.M. “Shorty” Wright, her brothers Donald, Norval Lee and Lester Fales, mother-in-law Phyllis Murphy and her companion of seven years, Ira Cole.

Services will be held at Grangeville First Christian Church on Thursday September 14th at 11am. Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville, a second service and burial will be in Torrington, WY.

Her wish to remain at home was made possible by the loving care provided by her granddaughter Sonja, daughter-in-love Mary Wright, daughter Connie, son Danny, daughter-in-law Sarah, and brother Neil and the Home Health and Hospice Program at Syringa Hospital, with special thanks to Linda Kelly, Cindy Higgins, Pastor Harold Gott and Dorma’s personal physician Dr. Jim Gardner.
