Margaret “Peg” Harcourt, 86, of Grangeville, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009, at her home in Grangeville. 

 

She was born July 12, 1922 at Jefferson, Ohio, a daughter of Clarence and Julia Miller Warren.  She attended school in Ohio, graduating from Spencer High School in Geneva, Ohio in 1939.  She married Edwin S. Harcourt and they later divorced.  She moved to Harpster, Idaho in 1970 and was co-owner of Vi and Peg’s Café until 1983 when she moved to Grangeville, Idaho. She worked for the State of Idaho and the Nezperce National Forest before retiring at the age of 68. 

 

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, ceramics, jewelry making, rock hounding, watching sports, and being in the outdoors. 

 

She is survived by her children, Sherry Gleason of Austinburg, Ohio, Julie Harcourt of Grangeville, Terry Bevans of Chubbuck, Idaho, Edwin Harcourt of Unionville, Ohio, and Jeffrey Harcourt of Ashtabula, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sister, Nola Morey of Geneva, Ohio.   

 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

 

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at the Harpster Cemetery in Harpster, Idaho.   

 

Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
