Marjorie G. Hindman, 102, of Grangeville, passed away Friday, June 5, 2009, at the Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Marjorie was born March 17, 1907 at Grangeville, a daughter of William and Eva Butler Manring. She attended Grangeville area schools and then attended Lewiston Normal Teachers College, and later attended nurses training, and then returned to Grangeville to help in the health care field.
She married Morris Hindman on October 15, 1931 at Lewiston. They moved to Mount Idaho in 1942. Morris and Marjorie were the foster parents of Paula Ivy, J.C. Ivy and Irene Ivy, who came to live with them in 1956. Marjorie enjoyed being a homemaker.
Mr. Hindman passed away in September of 1984 and she continued to live at Mount Idaho until 2003 when she moved to Grangeville.
She was a member of the Senior Citizens Center, Dollar a Month Club, and the Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle Church.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Turner, Robert Manring, Susan Manring, and Denise Thornberry; numerous nieces and nephews; several great grandchildren, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, and six sisters.
Services were held Monday, June 8, 2009, at 10:30 a.m., at the Grangeville Gospel Tabernacle Church. Inurnment followed at Mount Idaho Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
