Thomas David Bartz, 46, a lifelong resident of Idaho County, died in Grangeville after an acute heart attack on Friday, June 5, 2009, at Syringa General Hospital.
He was born July 30, 1962, in Grangeville, Idaho to Robert and Virginia Bartz.
He graduated in 1981 from Grangeville High School. He was a logger for a number of years before entering into the fields of taxidermy and reloading shells.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his many friends and family.
He married the love of his life, Robin Lee Chappell on September 30, 1994.
He is survived by his wife, Robin Bartz, of Grangeville; two sisters, Judy Bartz of Nampa and Chris Kaschmitter of Cottonwood; one brother, William Bartz of Winchester; a son, James Smith of Cottonwood and daughter, Christina Chappell of Clarkston, Washington; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Preceding him death were his father and mother, Robert and Virginia Bartz.
He was a great outdoorsman, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at the Grangeville City Park on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 4:00 p.m. The service is a potluck function. If your last name starts with letters A-H, bring salads; I-P, bring desserts; Q-Z, bring side dishes (beans, potatoes, etc.) In case of inclement weather, the service will be held at the Eagles Lodge, 218 North C Street, in Grangeville.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. |
