We, as his children, have lost our earthly father, Lloyd Sherman Wasem, on June 20, 2009, one day before Father’s Day.  Now he is with our Heavenly Father because our father Lloyd had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior by the confession of his mouth; and further the Bible says, “…to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord.”

Our father was born to John and Alta (Fortin) Wasem north of Fenn, outside of Cottonwood, on November 3, 1913.

On June 12, 1938, he married our mother, Wilma Mural Rupe, from Harpster.  During his lifetime, Lloyd worked as a farmer and certified welder.

His legacy left to us children was his strong work ethic, honesty, and integrity; in short….his character.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; grandson, Lance, and brother, Glenn.

He is survived by his three children, Arield of Washington, Utah, Denna-Rae Quickstad of Beaverton, Oregon, and Wayne of Kamiah, Idaho; and a brother, Harold, of Grangeville. Lloyd is also survived by ten grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 2:00 p.m., at the Denver Cemetery, near Fenn.  A potluck dinner will follow at the Wayne and Sarah Wasem residence, one mile south of the Kamiah bridge on the Clearwater River, at about 5:00 p.m. The family will provide the chicken (just bring a salad).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Denver Cemetery for the purchase of trees, c/o Blackmer Funeral Home, 305 N. Mill Street, Grangeville, Idaho 83530.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
