Walter G. Turner, 86, of Grangeville, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Syringa General Hospital in Grangeville.
Walt was born April 26, 1923, in Grangeville, Idaho to George Edward and Mary Turner.He grew up on the family farm in Grangeville. He attended a country school up through the 5th grade, and then worked on the family farm, eventually buying it, and continued this for the rest of his life.
Walt married Lola Bernier on December 27, 1944, in Grangeville. Together they had 3 children, Joe, Jerry and Judy.
Walt enjoyed watching things grow, fishing, hunting, and collecting antiques.
Survivors include his son Jerry, at the family ranch in Grangeville; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren, all of Spokane, Washington; Tammie Kay and David Anderson of Grangeville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Lola; 2 children; 3 brothers, and 1 sister.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at Prairie View Cemetery in Grangeville. Viewing will be on Thursday, July 2, from 4:00-6:00 p.m., at the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. |
