Billy was born November 8, 1925 in Grangeville to Bill and Daisy Lister Bevier. She graduated from Grangeville High School in 1943 as Valedictorian of her class.
On October 22, 1943, she married Willard “Swede” Welshenbaugh in Reno, Nevada. After Swede’s retirement, He and Billy worked side by side as faithful servants of Jesus Christ starting churches and ministering at many of them. They moved to Riggins in 1977, and Swede passed away in May 1981.
On August 18, 1982, she married Byron Calhoun in Reno. He passed away May 10, 2002. Billy remained in Riggins until July 2005 when she moved to Grangeville where she continued to serve the Lord and attended church regularly until November 2008 when she moved to Lewiston into the Pleasant Valley Retirement Home. In August 2009, as her health began deteriorating. She moved in Sycamore Glen in Clarkston on January 10, 2010, where she resided until her death.
Survivors are nieces Twila Hornbeck of Grangeville, and Donna Hellyer of Darby, Montana.
Funeral services were held on Monday, February 1, at the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. Burial followed at Prairie View Cemetery. |
