Blackmer Funeral Home

Freda M. McComb passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 23, 2010, while in the excellent care of Meadowlark Homes in Grangeville.

Freda was born on December 1, 1910 to Harrison and Melvina Johnson. Longtime resident of Grangeville, she worked as a teacher and a bookkeeper. She remained active in the Rebekah Lodge, Garden Club, Senior Center, and was member of the Grangeville Christian Church.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Calvin Bakie and Cevin Stone of Grangeville, Chris and Diana Stone of Steilacoom, Washington, and Cindy Underwood of Spokane; 10 great-grandchildren, Brooke and Justin Dean Bakie, Melissa, Michelle, Mike and Nick Stone, Kayla and Trevor Stone, and Ashley and Matthew Underwood; and two great-great-grandchildren, Joshua and Maria.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Darrell Martin in 1960; second husband Scotty McComb after over twenty years of marriage; and daughter, Gloria Bakie in 2009.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at 2:00 p.m., at the Grangeville Christian Church.
