Ione E. Carter, 73
Ione E. Carter, 73, of Grangeville, passed away Friday, July 5, 2008, at her home in Grangeville.
Ione was born May 2, 1935 at Iowa City, Iowa, a daughter of Maynard and Eva May Abbot Newton. She had lived in Grangeville and the surrounding area for several years.
She was active in the Eagles Lodge, having served as president for two years and also enjoyed running the bingo at the lodge. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Rudy Carter, at the family home in Grangeville; her five children, Wesley Jennings and his wife Sandy, Wanda Torres, Winona Latta and husband Earl, Wendy Carter, and Wildena Jennings and husband Tim; fifteen grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville. Burial followed at White Bird Cemetery.
