Barbara A Johnson

Barbara A. Johnson passed at Kootenai Health in Coeur d Alene Idaho on October 22, 2023 with her son and daughter at her bedside.

Barbara was born on March 28, 1947 in Grangeville, Idaho to William McKay and Jenny June York McKay. Barbara attended Grangeville High School graduating in 1965. In 1965 was the year she married Allen Johnson and they were married until Allen’s death in 2009. Barb spent the rest of her life on the family farm in Winona.

In Barbara’s lifetime she could be found at her children’s sporting events, 4-H events, and any other events that her children participated in. Later in life she began to work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood, Idaho in the kitchen. In the hospital kitchen is where she picked up the nickname Bobbi.  She spent many years working in the kitchen until she retired in 2009.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Allen, her parents and her step father Harry Gauss, her step sister Patricia Young, her sister Eva Wilson, her half sister Jeannie Morris, and her half sister Judy Nelson. She is survived by her son Rick Johnson (Christy) of Grangeville, her daughter Brenda Sellner (Kurt) of Grangeville, her grandson Shawn Truedson (Krissy) of Lewiston, her granddaughter Ashley Carpenter of Helena Montana, her granddaughter Caity Johnson (Vincent Rose) of Grangeville and her great grandson Austin Truedson of Lewiston. 

Services for Barbara will be a viewing from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, at Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville, Idaho. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 2, at Prairie View Cemetery. Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville is in charge of arrangements.
