William Schmitz

William “Bill” “Too Tall” Schmitz, 70, passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023 in Boise Idaho.  He was born September 19, 1952 to Wilfred and Kristine Hanneson Schmitz.

He attended St. Anthony Catholic School and Nezperce High School, graduating in 1971. He married Catherine Uhlorn Hess on December 31, 1986.

Bill was a life-long resident of Nezperce and knew every farmer and crop on the Camas Prairie; always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked, his loss will be felt by many.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday July 5, 2023 at 1 PM, Lion’s Memorial Park in Nezperce, ID.

Bill is survived by his spouse Cathi; daughters Gina and Casey; grandchildren Stefan (Nadine) and Anna (Marley); great-grandchildren Tristan, Midori, and Abigail; brothers Jerry (Marie) Elven, Tim (Sharon) Schmitz, Dana (Sheila) Schmitz; and sisters Judy (Ron Hyde) Elven, Mary Ann (Fred) Hess, and Peggy (Bill) Spears. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Tom Schmitz and Jon Elven.
